Introduction

The purpose of this document is to provide detailed instructions for exporting WebFOCUS artifacts and queries.

WebFocus Artifacts Extraction Prerequisites

LeapLogic requires WebFOCUS artifacts (FEXs, Master) in the raw format. Please follow the steps given below to export them.

The Change Management prerequisites are as follows.

Go to WebFOCUS Administration Console > Configuration> Application Settings > Change management. Before creating the CM export packages, please see the CM configuration parameters in the lower and higher WebFOCUS 8 environments as shown in the following screenshot.

These three configuration parameters can be accessed through WebFOCUS 8 Administration Console > Configuration > Application Settings > Change Management.

Note:

Please restart Tomcat server after updating these configurations.

WebFocus Artifacts Extraction

The artifacts are extracted through the WebFOCUS administration console that enables authorized users or administrators to use Change Management Export facility to build a package that can be downloaded.

Creating Scenario Using Change Management

Follow the steps to start exporting the artifacts.

On the start page, using the left navigation pane, select Management Center > Export Packages. Alternatively, from the WebFOCUS home page, open the Utilities menu, select Change Management and Export to open the Scenarios dialog box.

Select New Scenario to open the New Scenario dialog box.

In the New Scenario dialog box, enter a name for the scenario, and then select Create to open the Scenario dialog box.
In the list of available resources, expand the node that contains the reporting artifacts and drop them in the right pane.

When you have selected all resources, click Save.
Click Export to create the change management package.

Note:

The change management export directory is located within the file system of the machine that hosts WebFOCUS. The specific path varies by the type of installation used for your instance of WebFOCUS. Typically, this path is drive:\ibi\context\cm\export, where context represents the folders located between the ibi root directory and the cm directory.

Downloading Change Management Package

The download process downloads the CM as a zip file on your local machine.

On the start page, using the left navigation pane, select Management Center > Export Packages. Alternatively, from the WebFOCUS home page, open the Utilities menu, select Change Management and Export to open the Scenarios dialog box.
Right-click the CM zip file you want to download and then click Download.
Save the CM zip file to an external location as required.
Close the Scenarios dialog box.

Note:

If you receive an alert in your browser stating that the pop-up window is blocked, reset your browser to allow all pop-up windows from this website, and try again.
